(I accidentally repeated a sentence in my quote) Mr. Jordan told Shirin and a student to come up towards the class. Mr. Jordan told the student to say what he thought when he looked at Shirin. The student said "I don't see anything it's like she doesn't even exist." Shirin got deeply offended and stormed out of the classroom. When she told her brother Navid about it he didn't think it was a big deal. This represents point of view. In Navid's perspective, it didn't seem like a big deal; whereas Shirin was deeply offended.

This is internal conflict because Shirin wants to be nice to Ocean but she has been hurt and/or betrayed so many times that she can't open up to him, even though she wants to. Her fellow peers describe her as "scary" because she is very intimidating and isn't nice to anyone due to the pain she's been through psychologically. This quote is from the book The Summer I Turned Pretty . I chose this quote because I think it reminds someone how they should value the time they have and not waste it. Just like Belly said, things can't stay the same forever. Many things had happened that summer, Susannah getting cancer, her meeting Cam, Susannah and Mr. Fisher's divorce, and Belly really wanted to make the most out of it, despite the hardships, and realized things weren't going to stay perfect forever, but nonetheless she should still have a good time with the people she loves. This symbolizes that you should not waste the precious time you have and should cherish it and make the most out of it. So, this is symbolism because this quote symbolizes the cherishing of time, and that you should make the most out of the time you have instead of wasting it I want to read a book over the course of thirty days. I will do this by reading a little bit every day and keeping track by writing in my "graph" aka my reading log. I'm doing this because lately I have not been reading, and I really want to read. The author is also one of my favorites and I've been wanting to read this book for a really long while.
The book I did my Book Bento on is called Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Basically what happens is a murderer named Sirus Black escapes from Azkaban Prison and is hell-bent on killing Harry because he wants to finish what his master wanted to do.
So for Harry's protection Azkaban sends hundreds of Dementors to guard Hogwarts so they could capture Black. Also Ron and Hermione are feuding because she got a cat and it keeps on chasing Ron's pet rat, Scabbers. I enjoyed this book because it was serious but funny at the same time. I felt bad for Harry when Aunt Marge kept on shaming him and his dead parents. I don't know how someone could go through that and I really sympathized with him. I also found it funny how he exploded the glass in her hand (accidentally) and she floated in the air. This book was very enticing and I'm glad I chose it. When you think of reading, what visual pops in your head? For some people they think of being calm, relaxed, sitting in the shade on a beautiful day, and just enjoying the day and reading their book. Others may think of reading as being boring, dumb, and pointless. Why read a book when you can read an Instagram post, or a tweet? Here's why: Reading doesn't have to feel like a chore; it can be fun. All you need to do is find a topic that interests you. This is essential to reading, because there is literally no point in reading a book you think is boring.
Once you find a book that interests you I guarantee once you open it you'll be turning the pages in exhilaration and the words will be leaping at you begging to be read in no time at all. I, personally, am a picky reader. I don't read just anything. I have to know the genre, like the author, etc. Before I check out a book, I normally read a few pages or even just a few words of the book to make sure I like the author's writing style and to just get the gist of what the book's about. In addition, I'm a pretty fast reader, I can finish a book in a few days depending how engrossed and how interested I am. So, what you should have learned from this is: reading can be fun. You shouldn't, however, feel like you have to finish the book and you shouldn't read it with no joy whatsoever. If you're reading a book you might as well enjoy it. You should read because it helps you academically, too. Reading expands your brain and it also gives your creativity a chance to come alive. It will also improve your writing skills as well as your vocabulary. Reading will make you a more intelligent person, and it's fun so do it because there is no reason not to. |
